The platform was founded at the end of 2022 by the Czech Association of Independent Theatre and the Bavarian Association of Independent Performing Arts (Verband Freie Darstellende Künste Bayern, VFDKB). Its purpose is to create a network of institutions and contacts in both countries, map the developments in the field of independent art, initiate new international collaborations and seek sustainable solutions. 

 

By the end of 2024, the platform has fulfilled its objectives and is ceasing its active work. During the three years of our activity, we have involved over one hundred and fifty artists, curators and other people working in the fields of management, dramaturgy and production. We have enabled dozens of people to cross borders and explore neighbouring artistic environments, given rise to several cross-border collaborations and paved the way for the exchange of knowledge and artistic practices. 

 

Although the platform is no longer active, you can contact its coordinating team, who will still be happy to advise you if you are interested in establishing a cross-border collaboration or looking for potential partnerships with an organisation. We also invite you to visit our list with links which will guide you through the landscape of independent performing arts in the Czech Republic and Bavaria.
